Magic Barclay

(Director / Master Metabolic Precision Provider / Ad. Dip. Fitness / Dip. Clinical Nutrition / Senior CHC)

Magic is a mother of two young boys with special needs.  Through the learning curve of integrating them with the help of many therapists, Magic has learnt an amazing array of techniques to help the human body function well.  It is through her own childrens' amazing transformations Magic has been able to design many of her programs.

"Being told that your child will never walk or talk gives new meaning to the need for setting goals and reaching them.  Together, my family and I learnt that nothing is impossible and I aim to share that attitude with the world.  If you think that health, weight loss or even being able to reach minor fitness goals is out of your reach:  think again."    Magic Barclay

PROFESSIONAL INFORMATION

Years In Fitness Industry:  5    # of Clients Trained:  200 +

Client Specialisation:  Diabetes affected, Morbidly Obese,  Stroke & Hypertension Patients, Disability Clients, Carers

Why Did You Join The Fitness Industry?

I joined the fitness industry to provide help and education to others.  After losing 43 kgs of bodyfat and discovering my Hypertension, I decided help others in a similar predicament.  The fitness industry was also lacking anyone who could bring fitness and health to people living with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  Both my sons are afflicted with this (at varying degrees) and gyms and Personal Trainers are not ‘safe’ places for them in general.

What is your level of experience?

Simply attaining my certificates never seemed enough for me.  I have relished the opportunity to become a Senior CHC.  Aside from that, I have attained my Advanced Diplomas in Fitness and Clinical Nutrition.  My ‘life-experience’ helps me provide an unmatched service to my clients and I am often required to consult with clients from other Personal Trainers who are not qualified to treat pain and injury in their clients.

My industry experience has crossed many walks of life and I turn no-one away:  there is no ‘too-hard basket’ in my opinion.

How do you give your clients the results they desire?

Each and every program that my studios run is founded on the most up-to-date research.  However, the most influencing factor in my success with Diabetes, Chronic Disease and Pain Management is my passion to continually further my learning.  Each day presents new opportunities to learn and apply this knowledge to my work.  What I do everyday is not about me however.  I don’t set my goals at lofty heights for my own ego.  My goals are to provide relief for my clients.  You see, relief is an indefinable factor that many clients find elusive.  This can mean relief from pain, poor nutrition, excess weight or poor self-esteem.

As for my track record- well results speak for themselves.  When a health and fitness professional can give of their knowledge and skills completely and without hesitation, the client blooms.  I pride myself on giving opportunities to my clients and it is my passion to encourage and support my clients to grab those opportunities with a positive outlook and a real belief in their own ability to reach their goals.  Everything I do, everything I am, everything I believe is shaped by this challenge and by my adoration of these two special boys.
